A second teaser video of the upcoming Opel GT concept has been released. The new concept will be officially revealed at the 2016 Geneva auto show in March.
While the first video merely showed a modern interpretation of the “GT” logo, the new video gives a slightly better glimpse of the actual concept car. As Vauxhall and Opel CEO Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann slides open a door, the Opel GT concept’s shadowed front three-quarter can be seen, including the basic headlight design, a red illuminated wheel, and a few indistinct body lines.
The concept appears to have a short front overhang and somewhat long dash-to-axle ratio suggesting the new car will feature a longitudinally mounted front-engine and rear-drive layout like its predecessors. A few seconds later, Neumann turns to the camera and says, “Don’t miss what happens next.”
An image of the GT concept’s center-mounted dual exhaust tips was also released. Although Opel claims the concept’s “design is in no way retro,” the automaker says it uses the same philosophy of the original 1967-1973 Opel GT coupe as an ultra-modern, minimalistic and uncompromising vehicle with a sculptural shape.
