Right on the heels of Faraday Future unveiling its first concept, another EV startup company is ready to take on the electrified market. Dubuc Motors is launching its first EV on an equity crowdfunding platform called StartEngine.
The company, born in Quebec, Canada, says its Tomahawk sports car will boast 300 miles of range and hit 60 mph in 3 seconds. Top speed is expected to reach 160 mph. The new automaker plans to sell the Tomahawk in 2017, which is incidentally the same year FF is targeting for its first production car. The company is seeking $25 million through its crowdfunding campaign.
Under the sheetmetal, the all-wheel-drive Tomahawk EV features an aluminum body with an adjustable air suspension and twin motors front and rear. Opening the Tomahawk’s scissor doors reveals a modern cabin, which will include navigation, a touchscreen display, and 360-degree cameras as well as collision warnings. According to Dubuc, the 2+2 sports car seats four and was “designed for the big and tall in mind.” In addition, Dubuc hopes to build the car in North America.
Dubuc also says the Tomahawk “could very well be the fastest sports car yet” and is “the most practical and high end sports car approved by Mother Nature.” Watch them make even more grandiose claims in the video below.
