To offer more thrills on its drop-top California T, Ferrari will add a Handling Speciale package to the options roster.
The offering includes new damper settings and stiffer springs for a sportier drive while only “marginally reducing the ride comfort.” Ferrari says you’ll notice the biggest changes in Sport mode, as the gear shift logic has been modified for faster up- and down-shifts. The HS package also comes with a bolder exhaust note designed to sound increasingly aggressive as the driver keeps accelerating.
Along with the mechanical changes, the HS package also brings a number of cosmetic upgrades. On HS models, the front grille and rear diffuser are painted in a matte Grigio Ferro Met color. The effect concludes with matte black fences and matte black tailpipes in back, as well as a special plaque inside the cockpit.
No word on how much the special option will cost. But when we last tested the previous 2012 Ferrari California, the Handling Speciale package went for a cool $7,227. Worth it? Most definitely.
The Ferrari California T with the Handling Speciale package will debut at the Geneva motor show in March. The model will still come equipped with a twin-turbo 3.9-liter V-8 engine packing 553 hp and 557 lb-ft of torque.
