Details on the high-performance Jaguar F-Type SVR are no longer a mystery. Dutch magazine Autovisie obtained a leaked brochure of what appears to be the model-year 2017 Jaguar F-Type, which includes a section dedicated to the new SVR model.
The brochure is in German, but the pictures and numbers reveal plenty. For starters, the F-Type SVR will churn out 567 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, making it the most powerful F-Type ever. It’s not the 600 horses that was previously rumored, but it should be plenty for the two-door. The F-Type R currently makes 550 hp and 502 lb-ft.
Like the F-Type R, the F-Type SVR will feature all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic will be the only transmission choice. The brochure also reveals that the SVR will be offered as a coupe or convertible and that the estimated 0-62 mph time is 3.7 seconds (for both body styles). Jaguar claims the SVR will hit a top speed of 200 mph.
A long list of aerodynamic upgrades will help the SVR control the added boost in power and speed. Added vents on the hood and fenders are a few of the notable modifications up front, while the rear end features a large wing spoiler that adjusts according to speed. The exhaust system is upgraded with titanium to reduce weight and more pounds can be subtracted with the optional carbon ceramic brakes.
Autovisie reports the F-Type SVR will appear in European showrooms in May, so expect to see them in the U.S. around summer. The F-Type will be the second SVR-badged model to come from Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division following the Land Rover Range Rover Sport SVR. SVO promises more models are on the way, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming XE sedan and F-Pace crossover are on the table for SVR treatment.
