An Aston Martin DB10 created exclusively for the latest James Bond film, “Spectre,” will be going to auction at Christie’s King Street auction house in London next month. All proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.
In celebration of the 24th Bond film’s DVD and Blu-ray release, 24 special auction lots will grace the stage, led by the DB10. Only 10 units were produced for the film, hand-built by Aston Martin’s team of designers, engineers, and craftsmen. The DB10 up for auction is the only one from the original 10 that is available for private ownership, and is one of two that was not modified for the film.
The Aston Martin DB10 is powered by a 4.7-liter V-8 engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission, which delivers a top speed of around 190 mph, according to Aston. The body uses heavy amounts of carbon fiber, while the interior has been wrapped in leather with carbon fiber and aluminum accents. The model up for auction also features a signature from Daniel Craig, who played James Bond in the film.
Aston Martin has also given the DB10 a platinum award from the Aston Martin Works Assured Provenance scheme, the company’s first official in-house authentication program. As part of the authentication process, the DB10 underwent a digital scan to verify the vehicle for future reference. The auction will take place on February 18, and further information can be found on the Christie’s website.
