Bugatti Chiron Teased in New Video before Geneva Debut

To celebrate the arrival of 2016, Bugatti posted a video on their YouTube channel teasing the new Chiron hyper car. However, the clip, which is called “Breaking New Dimensions,” doesn’t even show a glimpse of the new car. Instead, it shows scenes such as a fighter pilot pulling extreme G forces, a skydiver gliding down from a high altitude, an astronaut space walking, volcanoes exploding, and divers swimming with sharks. While those may seem random, they may be referring to the car’s rumored top speed of over 288 mph and the ridiculous amounts of power made by its engine. Details regarding the Bugatti Chiron are still scarce but the car’s exterior design is inspired by the wild Bugatti Vision Gran Turismo Concept that debuted at the 2015 Frankfurt auto show, as evident in recent spy photos.

Under the hood, the Chiron is rumored to be using an updated version of the quad-turbo 8.0-liter W-16 engine used by its predecessor, the Veyron. However, unlike the Veyron, the new version will use direct injection and two electric turbochargers, which replaces two of the four units. The new hyper car is expected to be one of the most powerful production vehicles ever made and is said to have 1,500 hp and 1,100 lb-ft of torque. A torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system will be standard while a 7-speed twin-clutch gearbox will be the only transmission available.
