Watch Michelle Rodriguez Pilot a Jaguar F-Type SVR to 201 MPH

Jaguar says the F-Type SVR is the fastest series production car it has ever built, promising a top speed of 200 mph. To test out its capabilities, Jaguar enlisted Michelle Rodriguez, who set a personal top speed record in the car.

The Fast and Furious actress says she’s only ever gone as high as 140 mph in a car, but that would soon change. With a professional driver in the passenger seat, Rodriguez was able to push the F-Type SVR to 201 mph on a closed highway road in the Nevada desert.

“I don’t think I’d ever go this fast without a professional driver seated next to me, but oh man, it was an incredible feeling,” Rodriguez said in a statement.

The 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 just like the F-Type R. But the SVR is tuned to create 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, up 25 hp and 14 lb-ft from the R. Other upgrades on the model include a lighter titanium exhaust system, larger front bumper air intakes, updated charge air coolers, and redesigned hood vents. Jaguar estimates the new SVR will hit 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds, although we’ll have to wait until we can test the new high-powered cat for ourselves to see if that number checks out.
