The 2016 New York auto show kicks off this week, and Mercedes-Benz has once again showed off a teaser of the 2017 GLC Coupe before its official debut, this time on its Twitter page.
Previously, the German automaker released a video of the “sports car of SUVs” in light camouflage. The prototype was driven on a closed track, and showed off its design despite the camo. The new GLC Coupe looks like a smaller GLE Coupe with the same sloping roofline, and will likely share engines with the standard GLC crossover.
Expect the base model to be powered by a 241-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, with available engines including a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 and a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 in an AMG variant. All engines should be paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Before the teasers began to surface, we caught the GLC Coupe winter testing with less camouflage than we saw in the teaser video. The design elements kept close to the concept that debuted during the 2015 Shanghai auto show, with sloping roofline to give the BMW X4-fighter that coupe-like feel.
Stay tuned for the reveal of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe this week at the 2016 New York auto show.
