Chevrolet revealed two design studies at the 2016 Bangkok auto show: the Colorado Xtreme and Trailblazer Premier. The Colorado Xtreme is intended to invoke “the promise of a tough American truck” while the Trailblazer Premier embodies an active lifestyle, comfort, and luxury.
The Colorado Xtreme features unique design cues such as an engine hood scoop, side plates, a safari bar, and 18-inch mud terrain tires to make it look tough and rugged. This theme continues in the cabin with auxiliary gauges, a passenger grab handle, and an inclinometer. The model features Chevrolet’s latest MyLink infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen, as well as Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. Inside, the Colorado Xtreme features a two-tone black and orange theme with black and orange seats and a dash with orange trim.
For the Trailblazer Premium, Chevrolet has focused on the car’s interior by using subtle colors and softer materials along with bright chrome accents and wood trim made from Australian timber. Other unique interior touches include bespoke piping on the seat trim and handmade netting on the back of the driver and front passenger seats. The Trailblazer Premier’s interior features a multi-tone color scheme that includes brown, black, and white colored upholsteries to give the cabin a more upscale look.
We don’t expect the Colorado-based Trailblazer to come here, but should the U.S. get a pickup influenced by the Colorado Xtreme concept?
