Bugatti unveiled the Chiron just days ago at the Geneva auto show, and it’s already eyeing its next vehicle project. The automaker is considering the development of a four-door limousine, reports Bloomberg.
“I can’t get the idea for a four-door limousine out of my head, ” said Wolfgang Dürheimer, head of Bugatti. “It’s one of the options we might look into again as a possible next project.”
This isn’t the first time Bugatti has considered such a thought. In 2009, the Galibier concept previewed a four-door sedan for the brand. But plans to bring the car to production never materialized. It was supposed to offer an 8.0-liter W-16 engine like the outgoing Veyron. Needless to say, it promised a decadent interior, and rumors at the time pointed to a price tag of around $2.5 million.
It’s anyone’s guess whether or not we’ll see a Bugatti limousine in the near future. But its parent company Volkswagen is trying to curtail model lines for some of its more mainstream brands to save money.
Dürheimer also revealed the possibility of adding an electric model to Bugatti’s arsenal of vehicles. But when asked whether the brand was open to adding an ultra-lux SUV to compete with the likes of the Rolls-Royce SUV and Lamborghini Urus, Dürheimer answered with an emphatic “no.”
