The 2017 GMC Acadia will start at $29,995 when it goes on sale this spring. That’s $1,905 less than the base 2016 Acadia. The price reduction follows the 2017 model’s reduction in size and weight.
The reduced price comes despite the fact that the Acadia saw its strongest sales year in 2015 with 96,393 units sold. Also, the new Acadia comes with more standard features including a new IntelliLink system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Standard rear seat alert now reminds drivers if they forgot items in the second- and third-row seats.
Prices for midrange SLE and SLT models have also dropped. All-wheel drive is available starting on the SLE model for $35,375. Top-of-the-line Denali models go for $45,845 with front-wheel drive or $47,845 with all-wheel drive.
GM will offer a new All Terrain Acadia, which starts at $40,040 and features an advanced all-wheel-drive system with Active Twin Clutch for improved traction. The off-road-oriented model eliminates the third row option but adds cosmetic upgrades like a body-color grille surround, black chrome trim, and updated wheels, as well as special design accents and storage bins inside the cabin.
Two new engine choices are available on the Acadia: a standard 2.5-liter inline-four engine with an estimated 194 hp and an available 3.6-liter V-6 with an estimated 310 hp. Both engines are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2017 Acadia comes with a host of new available safety features. These include front pedestrian braking, automatic braking, surround vision camera, following distance indicator, lane keep assist, lane change alert, and front and rear parking assist. Safety seat alert also arrives on the Acadia for the 2017 model year.
