James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 Sells for $3.5 Million at Auction

This week, the only Aston Martin DB10 available for public sale from the latest James Bond film, “Spectre,” was sold at auction to benefit Médecins Sans Frontières, otherwise known as Doctors without Borders. The winning bid came in at £2,434,500 (roughly $3.5 million).

The DB10 had a limited production of only 10 units for the film, and each was hand-built by the designers, engineers, and craftspeople at Aston Martin’s Gaydon headquarters in the U.K. The automaker has been part of the Bond franchise for nearly half a century. The Bond-Aston association first began with the DB5, and now the winning bidder has a piece of that history.

A total of 10 lots were auctioned off as part of the “James Bond Spectre – The Live Auction,” while another 14 lots will be available for online sale until February 23 to celebrate the movie’s release to Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD.

“The DB10 is one of the rarest cars ever created. Only 10 will ever be made and this is the only one that will be made available for sale. It’s great to see this DB10 raising vital funds for Médecins Sans Frontières, it is a fantastic charity, that we are delighted to support,” said Aston Martin CEO Dr. Andy Palmer in a release.
