Ken Block’s Ford Fiesta ST RX43 Teased Ahead of Gymkhana 8

Ken Block’s Gymkhana 8 will be released February 29 on the Ford Performance YouTube channel, according to a new teaser video posted on Hoonigan’s YouTube channel.

The new teaser video also previews Block’s new 650-hp Ford Fiesta ST RX43 for Gymkhana 8. Although the new two-door Fiesta ST RX43 features the racer’s familiar paint scheme, the car sports a new directionally reflective, black-on-black livery that changes based on viewing angle. Block’s new RX43 drift car rides on Toyo Proxes R1R tires.

Last fall, Block teased a new 1978 Ford Escort Mk2 RS. While the racer’s past cars have all been all-wheel-drive (including the “Hoonicorn RTR” 1965 Ford Mustang), the Escort Mk2 RS was Block’s first rear-drive Gymkhana racer. That model was powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder Millington engine making 333 rwhp, or about 390 hp at the crank. It was thought that car would appear in Gymkhana 8, but apparently the new video will feature the tried-and-true Fiesta.

Do you think Block will be able to top Gymkhana 7, where he raced the all-wheel-drive, 845-hp Hoonicorn RTR Mustang through the streets of L.A.? Check out the teaser video below for a preview of the new car ahead of Gymkhana 8’s launch on February 29 at 9:00 pm PST.
