cars news 10: Bruce Wayne Drives a Jeep Renegade in “Batman v Superman”

It appears the Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice edition was just a preview of better things to come for the small ‘ute. Jeep today unveiled a short commercial clip featuring a Renegade speeding through a city under attack, and the automaker tells us the small Jeep will indeed be driven by Bruce Wayne (played by Ben Affleck) in the upcoming movie “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

While the Renegade in the movie looks like an exact carbon copy of the Renegade Dawn of Justice edition, a Jeep spokeswoman tells us they are different. Both versions sport a blacked-out look, but the movie car has a yellow light bar on its roof. Regardless, both look similar enough to get the 6,000 or so Renegade Dawn of Justice owners excited about their purchase.

The movie will feature other products from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, though it’s unknown if Bruce Wayne will be driving those vehicles.

The Renegade is obviously a much more modest choice compared to Wayne’s flashy Lamborghinis driven in the past Batman movies (perhaps he wanted more ground clearance?). But the film is still a month away, so there’s plenty of time for Warner Bros. to tease other product placements in Bruce Wayne’s fleet. The new Batmobile first surfaced back in 2014 after director Zack Snyder revealed the hero car on Twitter.
