Subaru Sales Through November 2015 Surpass 2014 Annual Sales

Subaru has done it again. Though November 2015, Subaru has managed to sell over half a million vehicles in the U.S., a milestone it first reached last year. The automaker’s year-to-date tally is 526,401 units, which already surpasses its previous record of 513,693 vehicles sold in 2014.

This is Subaru’s seventh consecutive year of continued growth and there’s still one more month of sales to go. The automaker attributes its strong sales performance to models like the Forester and the Crosstrek. The Outback has also been strong this year, with a year-to-date sales tally of 136,227 units, a 9.8-percent jump from the same period in 2014.

The BRZ is the only Subaru model that has declined in sales. With a year-to-date total of 4,883 units, the BRZ is down 31.1 percent compared to last year. Sales of the WRX and STI remain strong, jumping 35.1 percent to 30,645 units through November 2015.

“We are delighted to be celebrating yet another record,” said Thomas Doll, President of Subaru of America, in a statement. “Our continued growth is built strong products and outstanding retailers providing a great customer experience.”

Doll, who has been integral to Subaru’s growth in America, was recently named our 2016 Motor Trend Person of the Year. “Doll helped the once-quirky brand go mainstream by making Subaru a lifestyle choice instead of merely a vehicle to purchase,” we noted in our 2016 Power List report.
