Thanks to our spy photographers, we now have a clear look at the interior of the new 2017 Lincoln Continental. It’s pretty much what we’d expect from Lincoln, and it’s much tamer than the interior we saw on the concept earlier this year.
The Continental’s interior features tasteful black leather and shiny wood trim on the dashboard and doors. For better or worse, it sheds the overwhelming amount of chrome and extravagant blue velvet materials we saw on the concept. The center controls are laid out in a similar fashion, although some of the buttons look a little more conventional than before. The model now features two separate air vents on top of the dashboard instead of one large unit as on the concept.
The 2017 Lincoln Continental interior also sports a large touchscreen as well as a push-button gear selector that frees up space for storage. Expect the Continental to feature plenty of convenience features and technologies, including heated seats and a premium Revel audio system.
We last spotted a Lincoln Continental prototype just a few days ago, when we were pleased to learn that the bodywork hasn’t changed much from the concept. While Lincoln toned down the chrome a bit, the model still features a familiar headlamp design and the same overall shape.
Lincoln should officially debut the Continental in early 2016, and the model will likely go on sale in the second half of the year. When it heads to production, expect the Continental to feature a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6.
