cars news 10: 2016 Nissan Titan XD Starts at $41,485

The 2016 Nissan Titan XD, which goes on sale Wednesday, starts at $41,485 for the base S model and tops out at $61,715 for the highest trim.

The new Titan XD comes standard with a Cummins-sourced 5.0-liter turbodiesel V-8 with 310 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque. Other standard features include a 5.0-inch color display, six-speaker sound system, USB compatibility, aluminum step rails, and four-way manually adjustable front cloth seats with vinyl booster.

Next in the lineup is the SV trim, which starts at $45,255 and adds SiriusXM satellite radio, Nissan Connect with Mobile Apps, Siri Eyes Free, and power outside mirrors with integrated turn signals. The SL trim brings prices up to $53,225 for additional features like 20-inch aluminum alloy wheels, a Rockford Fosgate sound system with 12 speakers, and a larger 7-inch touchscreen display. At the very top of the lineup, the Platinum Reserve features a two-tone paint color, dark chrome exterior trim, leather-appointed heated seas, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with wood insert.

Opting for all-wheel drive adds between $2,950 and $3,050 to the price of the vehicle, depending on which one of the four trims you choose. One model, the PRO-4X, is available exclusively with all-wheel drive. Priced at $52,165, this version features off-road tires, Bilstein off-road shock absorbers, an electronic locking rear differential, and skid plates.

Of course, options can be added to any trim level to raise the price. A rear DVD entertainment package, available on the top Platinum Reserve, adds an extra $2,190. Premium paint is available as a $395 option on the PRO-4X, SL, and Platinum Reserve trims. All models come in Crew Cab configuration.

The Titan XD is the first model in the 2016 Titan lineup to arrive in dealerships. In total, the Titan lineup will be offered in three cab configurations, two frame sizes, and three powertrain offerings.
