Volvo S90 Excellence Interior Concept Shows Luxurious Lounge Console

At the 2016 Beijing auto show, Volvo has unveiled the S90 Excellence Interior Concept, which showcases what a Lounge Console could look like in the upcoming S90 Excellence sedan, which will be the range-topping variant of the S90 lineup. The automaker says that, like the original XC90 Lounge Console Concept, the S90 Excellence Interior Concept shows its commitment to deliver a new take on luxury.

“We had such positive feedback with our original Lounge Console Concept in the XC90 that we wanted to take it a step closer to reality in an S90 Excellence interior. With this interior we wanted to create a piece of art, a sculpture. We’ve taken many of the original concepts and made them come to life,” said Robin Page, vice president of interior design at Volvo Cars.

Key features include two individual rear seats separated by a larger center console that houses the controls for heating, cooling, and massaging functions. Additionally, there are also retractable tables for each rear passenger along with two cup holders that are heated and cooled. A refrigerator is also positioned in the center console in between both seats and comes with two hand-cut crystal glasses from the Swedish glassmaker Orrefors.

The front passenger’s seat has been removed and in its place is a heated foot rest that features a small storage space and a retractable screen. This gives the passenger the ability to have a mobile working station or a place to watch films during a long drive.
