Some call it a convertible version of the Wraith, and others would even venture to say it’s a rebodied BMW 7 Series. But in getting to know the Rolls-Royce Dawn, you realize what makes this car so special and unique from its luxury counterparts. On the latest episode of “Ignition,” we find out why driving the Dawn makes you an instant celebrity.
Host Jason Cammisa spends a day at the beach testing out the Dawn. “Rolls-Royce has absolutely nailed this driving experience to the point where you wouldn’t even believe BMW had anything to do with it,” Cammisa says. The Dawn features a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V-12 producing 563 hp, but it quickly becomes apparent this car’s primary goal is not speed. It’s comfort.
Inside the cabin, our $400,000 Dawn boasts sumptuous leather seats, elegant open-pore wood, and plenty of room for rear-seat passengers. Sure, the Dawn has a few imperfections just like any other car. If that’s not evident on the surface, just take one look at its gas cap.
Watch the latest “Ignition” episode below and find out if the Rolls-Royce Dawn can do a burnout.
