Following in the footsteps of American automakers, Mitsubishi is auctioning off the last Lancer Evolution Final Edition to escape the factory for charity. If you are a Mitsubishi superfan, collector, or are in a particularly giving mood, the last Evo produced for the U.S. is up for sale on eBay right now.
Clad in the customary Diamond White paint, the 1,600th Final Edition is offered in the same standard spec as the rest of the model run. Visually, the “FE” is adorned with the requisite “Final Edition” badging, black painted roof, and gloss black bumper pieces, matching well with the dark chrome Enkei wheels.
Underneath the skin, the FE Evo packs the tried-and-true 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four cylinder as past Evo Xs. Power is a healthy 303 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque, enough to scuttle the Evo to 60 mph in the mid-four-second range. Each FE is offered exclusively with a five-speed manual transmission, sending power to all-four wheels.
Bidders interested in grabbing what will be the very last Evo offered for U.S. consumption will sleep well knowing they support a good cause. All proceeds of the sale will be evenly split between Feeding America Riverside San Bernardino, and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.
