cars news 10: Here’s Your Chance to Own Donald Trump’s Lamborghini Diablo

Way back before Donald Trump launched his presidential campaign to “make America great again,” he owned a pretty cool Italian sports car — a 1997 Lamborghini Diablo Roadster VT, to be exact. And now, that car is for sale on eBay, appearing to be in fairly great condition with low miles.

According to the eBay listing, the Donald bought the car new and sold it a few years later (it’s now on its third owner). The Lambo’s paint is called “Lemans Blue” and apparently it was custom-ordered by Trump, making it the only Diablo painted in this shade for 1997. That means you can expect collectibility to be Yuge.

Power comes from a 492-hp 5.7-liter V-12 engine that’s mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The odometer reads a relatively low 15,277 miles. The biggest difference between this Diablo VT and the standard Diablo is the addition of all-wheel drive featuring a viscous center differential. Other VT upgrades included improved brake cooling, electronically adjustable dampers, and a revised interior. Listed options include 18-inch rims, a front lifting system, and clear 3M protection on the hood and other parts.

The history report shows the car was involved in one accident, which wasn’t detailed in the advertisement. Otherwise, the seller claims “this car looks and drives as new!!” The seller also says “this is now your chance to own a real limited addition [sic] supercar from the past and a piece of Lamborghini and presidential history!!” Pictures also show a “Trump 2016” sticker on the rear window, which we assume will be included with the sale.

Starting bid is listed at $460,000 (reserve hasn’t been met) and there’s only two days left before the auction closes.
