The last 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition sold on eBay for $76,400. The final bid is slightly more than double the car’s suggested MSRP of $37,995 (not including destination). The car is build number 1,600 of 1,600 Final Edition models.
Initially, Mitsubishi announced that there would be 1,000 Evo Final Edition for its home market in Japan, but later announced it would bring 1,600 examples to the U.S. While the JDM versions would feature the same 291-hp, 300-lb-ft turbo 2.0-liter as the standard GSR trim, the U.S. models received a slight power bump to 303 hp and 305 lb-ft; increases of 12 hp and 5 lb-ft.
Other performance bits include two-piece Brembo brake rotors up front and Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs at each corner. Exterior details include a chrome front grille surround, black-painted aluminum roof, unique dark-chrome-finished alloy wheels, and a blacked-out center bumper. Red stitching contrasts with the black interior, while the center console sports a special numbered plaque.
Mitsubishi offered the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Edition in four colors including white, red, gray, and blue. The last Evo Final Edition is painted white. In July, we reported that build number 0001 of the 1,600 Final Edition cars, which features red paint, was being offered for $88,888 by a Brooklyn dealer. From the ad, it appears that car is still available.
While 2015 was the last year for the hardcore Lancer Evolution, the more pedestrian Mitsubishi Lancer it stems from soldiers on with minor updates for the 2016 model year.
