The Metris can be equipped with Mercedes’ Attention Assist feature, which can detect and recognize driver fatigue through steering inputs. If the system thinks you’re getting drowsy, a coffee cup icon will appear to let you know it’s time for a break.

The Metris comes out of Mercedes’ commercial vehicle division, but it’s still a Mercedes. For evidence of this, just look at the switchgear. Most of it is plucked straight out of the Mercedes parts bin.

How to Make the Metris More Luxurious

If you want more Mercedes luxury DNA in your commercial van, you can opt for the Interior Appearance package, which adds chrome trim, front footwell lighting, a comfort suspension, and carpeting. You can also specify premium rear door and tailgate trim and black leatherette seats.Mercedes Benz Metris passenger van driver side

Cupholder Flexibility

The Germans still don’t seem to grasp Americans’ fascination with cupholders, but the designers of the Metris were generous enough to give the van six standard drink receptacles—almost enough for each passenger. Don’t need the rear cupholders? They’re detachable, so you can remove them for more armrest space.
