Nissan has unveiled the production version of the Kicks small crossover and announced that the car will go on sale in more than 80 countries. Originally previewed as a concept at the 2014 Sao Paulo motor show, the Kicks will go on sale in Latin America first. The automaker says that the Kicks is aimed at customers living in the city and will be manufactured in Brazil at Nissan’s facility in Resende, Rio de Janeiro.

Barely changed on its journey from concept to production, the Nissan Kicks features similar design details such as the boomerang headlights and taillights, the V Motion grille, and the contrasting floating roof. The Kicks’ interior also features a unique design with a center stack that looks like it has a tablet embedded in it and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The Kicks will also gain new features such as the Around View Monitor and Moving Object Detection, which Nissan is touting as segment firsts in the Latin American market.

“With Kicks, we have developed a compact crossover in the best Nissan tradition, and thanks to the unmatched experience, we have in creating vehicles to meet the needs of car-buyers around the world,” said Keno Kato, corporate vice president of product planning at Nissan. “Kicks will offer best-in-class design, convenience and technological innovation. And, it will demonstrate Nissan’s commitment to Nissan Intelligent Mobility. Kicks is a car to confidently take on the city.”

The Nissan Kicks will go on sale first in Brazil followed by left-hand drive markets in Latin America later in 2016. Nissan will eventually sell the car in more than 80 global markets but it isn’t known if the Kicks will find its way to the U.S.
