cars news 10: Mini Seven Heading to Market, Celebrates Classic Austin Seven

Mini is gearing up to launch the special-edition 2017 Mini Seven, complete with custom wheels and a colorful interior. The model takes its name from the Austin Seven, the first classic Mini ever produced and the twin to the Morris Mini Minor back in 1959.

The Seven, based off the Mini Hardtop, comes to market late this summer. It will be available in two- and four-door versions and in Cooper and Cooper S trims. A six-speed manual is standard on all models, but can be replaced by an optional seven-speed automatic.

Buyers have a choice between four paint colors: Lapisluxury Blue, Pepper White, Midnight Black, and British Racing Green. Regardless of the body color, the roof and mirror caps are painted in Melting Silver. Bonnet stripes feature Melting Silver as the main color, with Malt Brown serving as a surround. Also look for specially designed two-color 17-inch wheels, or optional 18-inch Vanity Spoke wheels.

Inside the cabin, you’ll find a standard 6.5-inch infotainment system and “Seven” badging. Also standard are Malt Brown accents on the armrests as well as sports seats covered partially in black leather. But like so many other Minis, drivers can customize much of the interior to their liking. Drivers can opt for seats with Cross Punch Carbon Black leather, Lounge Satellite Grey Leather, and Carbon Black leather. Plucked from the MINI Yours line, multiple interior styles are available, including Dark Cottonwood, Fibre Alloy, and Off-White. A larger 8.8-inch screen is also an option.
