Amedeo Felisa has retired as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ferrari brand. He will continue to serve on Ferrari’s Board of Directors as a technical advisor to the Italian automaker. The mechanical engineer worked for the company for 26 years.
“I have known Amedeo for more than a decade and I have had the opportunity to work with him closely for the last two years,” Marchionne said in a release. “He is beyond any doubt one of the best automotive engineers in the world. During the last 26 years, he has worked tirelessly to fuel and guide Ferrari’s technical development, producing an array of cars which have set the standard for both performance and styling.”
Felisa began his career with Ferrari in 1990. Past projects include turning the Testarossa into the 512 TR, the evolving of the 348 into the F355, and the development of the 550/575 Maranello as well as the 360 Modena, F430, and Enzo supercar. The engineer also helped integrate Maserati and Ferrari development.
For the time being, Sergio Marchionne will fill in as Ferrari CEO on top of his current role as Chairman of FCA.
