Kia has unveiled the 2017 Sorento, which has received minor changes including the integration of Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto. Two new options, the Advance Touring and Advance technology packages, are now available in lower trim levels and add additional active safety features such as dynamic bending lights, forward collision warning, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, advanced smart cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. The range-topping SXL trim comes standard with all active safety features.
The base L and LX trims will continue to come standard with a 2.4-liter I-4 making 185 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque while the EX model is equipped with a more powerful 2.0-liter turbo-four rated at 240 hp and 260 lb-ft. A 3.3-liter V-6 with 290 hp and 252 lb-ft is standard on the SX and SXL grades and optional on the LX and EX trims. A six-speed automatic remains the only transmission available on all trim levels. Seven-passenger seating remains standard on all V-6 equipped Sorentos and optional on the LX trim equipped with the 2.4-liter I-4.
