cars news 10: The $100,000 Club of the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show

Los Angeles is the ideal place to unveil new rides for the one percent. The 2016 Los Angeles auto show is packed with SUVs but by no means is it lacking in other segments, such as luxury cars. From large sedans to sports cars, there’s a car for every affluent buyer out there, and all with base prices of about $100,000 or more.

Porsche Panamera Executive

The newest addition to the Porsche Panamera lineup is the long-wheelbase, all-wheel-drive Executive variant. Compared to the standard car, the Panamera Executive is 5.9 inches longer and comes with features such as a large panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated multi adjustable rear seats, adaptive air suspension, and much more.

Rezvani Beast Alpha

If you want to drive a rare and very powerful supercar, consider the Rezvani Beast Alpha. Based on the standard Beast, the Beast Alpha carries a base price of around $200,000, is hand built, and adds a removable roof to protect you from the elements. The 500-hp highly modified Acura-sourced four-cylinder engine can be paired to a six-speed manual or a six-speed sequential automatic transmission.

Lamborghini Huracan Spyder LP580-2

The most driver-focused member of the Lamborghini Huracan family is now available as a drop top. Despite being less powerful than the all-wheel-drive version, the rear-drive Huracan Spyder should be just as fun to drive as the coupe but with the added bonus of the wind in your hair.

Land Rover Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic

If the long-wheelbase Land Rover Range Rover SVAutobiography is too large, the automaker is now offering an equally luxurious new Dynamic model based on the standard-wheelbase Range Rover. Powered by the same 550-hp 5.0-liter supercharged V-8, the $171,990 Range Rover SVAutobiography Dynamic should prove slightly more maneuverable than the $200,945 long-wheelbase model.

Mercedes-AMG GT/GT C/GT R

New variants of the Mercedes-AMG GT make their North American debut at the 2016 Los Angeles auto show. In addition to the coupe, there’s now a hardcore GT R variant, a roadster, and the new GT C trim that slots between the GT and GT S. Versions of the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 and AMG Speedshift seven-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission remain, and offer quick acceleration.

Audi R8 V10 Plus Exclusive (with Laser LED lights)

Audi’s laser LED lighting technology finally makes its debut in the U.S. with a special edition of the R8 supercar. Equipped in the R8 V10 Plus Exclusive edition, these headlights activate at speeds of over 40 mph to better illuminate the road ahead. Priced at $230,450 including destination, only 25 units of the R8 V10 Plus Exclusive will be sold in the U.S.

BMW M760i xDrive

Currently one of two performance variants of the 7 Series, the BMW M760i xDrive is the closest thing to a full-fledged M7 to ever come from the Bavarian brand. Powered by a 601-hp, twin-turbocharged 6.6-liter V-12 that also makes 590 lb-ft of torque, the M760i xDrive should be one of the quickest full-size luxury sedans available, and carries a base price in the mid-$150,000 range.

BMW Alpina B7 xDrive

Alongside the M760i xDrive is the BMW Alpina B7 xDrive, the other performance-oriented 7 Series that’s also making its official North American debut at the 2016 Los Angeles auto show. Instead of a V-12, this behemoth of a luxury sedan takes the 750i’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 and dials it up to 600 hp and 590 lb-ft. The Alpina B7 is estimated to have a top speed of 193 mph.

Mercedes-AMG E63 S

If you must have a luxurious hot rod, the Mercedes-AMG E63 (now with standard all-wheel drive) could be the car for you. Powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 with603 hp (the standard E63 makes 563 hp), the E63 S even has a drift mode feature.

Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet

With only 300 units to be made overall and 75 for the U.S., the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet embodies exclusivity in a luxuriously appointed drop top. In addition to your choice of three special exterior/interior color combinations, the Maybach S650 Cabriolet also comes with its own personalized luggage set, a car cover that matches the soft top, and a Nappa leather-upholstered key ring. Powering the S650 Cabriolet is a 621-hp 6.0-liter twin-turbo V-12 coupled to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
