cars news 10: McLaren 570S Gets Special Design Editions

So you have an extra $200,000 or so lying around and want to buy a 2017 McLaren 570S — but you don’t want to go stock. Well, McLaren has great news for you, as the automaker now offers five exclusive Design Editions for the 570S.

“Every design element has been selected to be in perfect harmony,” says McLaren, which had its designers working overtime to craft different finishes and combos that complement the company’s signature color palate.

The new editions feature McLaren designers’ choice of paint, wheels, exhaust, and caliper colors combinations. Plus, there’s a matching interior package to complement the exterior of your mid-engine sports car and its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 that’s capable of speeds up to 204 mph.

For instance, Design Edition 1 features Vermillion Red paint, five-spoke wheels, Stealth exhaust, and red brake calipers on the outside. The interior gets Carbon Black Alcantara, Apex Red Nappa leather seats, Jet Black Nappa leather upper fascia, Apex Red Nappa leather lower fascia, Slate Gray stitching, a two-color steering wheel, and a branded leather sill finisher.

Looks good, we’ll take it. But if red is too much for you, other edition colors include Onyx Black, Storm Gray, Ventura Orange, and Silica White. It’ll set you back an additional $10,555 dollars over the base price, which McLaren says is still cheaper than ordering all of the options separately.

In addition, buyers can choose more trim and carbon fiber options for their tony two-seater — for additional bucks, of course. McLaren Design Editions are currently exclusive to the 570S high-performance beast.

Orders are now being taken for 2017 deliveries.
