Henrik Fisker is wasting little time unveiling his new creation. In addition to revealing the name—the Fisker EMotion—Fisker Inc. has unveiled photos and a few specs of its electric vehicle, which the company says will be the first electric luxury sedan to boast 400 miles of range.
Fisker recently teased the EMotion earlier this month. In its current form, the EMotion has butterfly doors and a wild-looking front fascia with a protruding nose and boomerang-like headlights. The side profile boasts a swooping roofline with very short rear overhangs. The automaker says the interior will be relatively spacious, with “more rear legroom than many full-size luxury sedans.”
Fisker isn’t ready to unveil full details on its electric powertrain, but says its battery pack features graphene and is developed in conjunction with Nanotech Energy. The automaker also claims the EMotion will have a top speed of 161 mph and will run at least 400 miles between charges. That puts it well above the Tesla Model S P90D, which is rated at 302 miles of range. In addition to its long-range capability, the EMotion will be fitted with autonomous technology and will employ a mix of aluminum, carbon fiber, and other composite materials.
Fisker says it will build the EMotion in the U.S. and will be ready to fully unveil the vehicle by the middle of next year.
As previously reported, Fisker Inc. is Henrik Fisker’s latest endeavor after he broke away from Fisker Automotive, a company where he penned the Fisker Karma. Fisker Automotive eventually went bankrupt and has since reemerged as Karma Automotive.
