Watch the First Trailer for “The Fate of the Furious”

One of the biggest underlying themes of the “Fast and the Furious” series – besides vehicular mayhem – is loyalty to your crew and family. The next installment, officially titled “The Fate of the Furious,” has a completely different theme: betrayal.

In the first full trailer for the eighth F&F movie, we see main character Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, turn on his friends and join forces with a new baddie played by Charlize Theron. We’re left to wonder if Toretto has actually gone rogue or if he’s been brainwashed somehow, but whatever the case, it’s clear his friends will attempt to get him back. In the process, they harpoon Dom’s Dodge Charger and engage in a five-way tug-of-war, drive on ice and get chased by a submarine, and accept help from a former enemy (Jason Statham).

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Fast and Furious movie without an impressive roster of cars. In just the trailer, we see Mercedes G-wagens, a Jaguar F-Type coupe, Mercedes-AMG GT, C2 Chevy Corvette, Bentley Continental GT, Lamborghini Murcielago, Howe and Howe Technologies Ripsaw, and much more. As you’d expect, there are also plenty of new Fiat Chrysler products featured.

“The Fate of the Furious” arrives in theaters April 14, 2017. Watch the action-packed trailer below.
