Kia has released the third teaser for its upcoming sports car, and this time around, we finally get a good look at the new model. In the video below, Kia shows off the headlights and the long and lean silhouette of the GT.
Judging from the body lines, the model looks just like prototypes we’ve seen earlier this year. Its long hood, fastback roof, and dual exhaust pipes remain intact. But for some reason, the GT looks particularly large now that all the camo has come off.
In previous teasers, Kia called its new rear-drive sedan “the fastest-accelerating Kia to date,” boasting an estimated 0-62 mph time of 5.1 seconds. The automaker hasn’t let on which engines the sports car could receive, although it could borrow the two V-6 engine options found in the Genesis G80. We also spied a prototype that we think was testing a V-8 engine, perhaps the 5.0-liter Tau engine that produces 420 hp and 383 lb-ft in certain G80 and G90 sedans.
Expect Kia to put out at least one more teaser video of the new GT before it debuts at the Detroit auto show next month. The reveal comes more than five years after Kia brought out the GT concept fastback.
