Back in April, Chrysler launched the “Dad Brand” ad campaign for the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica minivan, featuring actor and comedian Jim Gaffigan, his wife, and their five kids. Over Father’s Day weekend, the automaker released the other spots in the campaign.
The commercials parallel what makes a good father and a good vehicle, and how the new Pacifica is the perfect vehicle for fathers. Each spot highlights different features of the new minivan, from park assist, the touchless sliding rear door, and even rear-seat infotainment. While the ad campaigns do a good job of showing off key features of the new minivan, they fail to mention that the Pacifica is available as a hybrid, which is a first in the segment.
Chrysler will run the unique #DadBrand video content across all its social media platforms in addition to the five commercials that have already launched. All five ads feature a comedic, tongue-in-cheek edge, playing on Gaffigan’s strengths not only as a comedian, but also as a father looking to improve is “Dad Brand.”
