The battery-powered version of the Kia Soul, available since late last year in California only, is expanding beyond the Golden State. The Kia Soul EV will go on sale in Georgia in May, and in June will come to Oregon, Washington, Texas, and Hawaii.
EV shoppers in the Peach State will find the zero-emissions hatchback priced at $34,525 for the base model, $2000 more for the Plus (that’s before the $7500 federal EV tax credit). Lease prices start at $249/month (36 months, $2000 down), or $279 for the Plus.

The Soul EV’s 190-hp electric motor spins out 210 lb-ft of torque; the 192-cell battery pack can keep the good times going for 93 miles, according to the EPA. The Kia’s UVO EV telematics service, combined with the standard navigation system, can help drivers find public charging stations—there are 258 in Georgia, apparently.
As for the rest of the country, additional states are promised for 2016, but Kia’s not saying which ones yet.
