Tesla’s long-promised Model X crossover is almost a familiar sight to car fans on the internet. Where it’s not so commonly seen is on the road: The electric carmaker has pushed back the gullwing-doored truckster’s debut more than once. Now, a sharp-eyed citizen in the Palo Alto, California, area has caught our clearest view yet of a very production-looking Model X in on-road testing.
YouTuber nbkagzw13 (that name just rolls off the keyboard, doesn’t it?) spied this lightly camouflaged Model X cruising down the highway. Wearing just a few dashes of obfuscating vinyl, it’s unmistakably a Model X. Preproduction models have been caught driving around near Tesla headquarters before, but the minimal camo and broad daylight video here show us some details that were previously not visible.

When will we finally see the Model X on sale? Earlier this year, the automaker said that production would begin in the third quarter of this year. According to Tesla’s website, Model X reservations placed today will be delivered in “early 2016.”
