There was no guarantee that the Porsche Cayman GT4 was really going to be the car we were hoping for. Sure, it was going to perform, but the Boxster and Cayman are about more than numbers. And our first drive proved that it’s the real deal. Reading about it is one thing; seeing it in action is another.
This is a video of a new Cayman GT4 launching and accelerating up to 240 km/h, or roughly 150 mph. It sounds snarly and wonderful from a stop with the driver lightly prodding the throttle; that burble will haunt your dreams. And then, it screams off. And continues screaming. Even with the too-tall gearing, it disappears from view with authority.
