Most Expensive Ford GT You May Never Want to Drive. Now for Sale on eBay

Ford GT for sale on eBay Jan 2015 1 In the realm of valuable vintage cars, the ones that seem to command the most money are either the ones that have zero or close to zero miles, or the ones that have been driven to hell and back, preferably in some famous races, and then left untouched in a barn for 40 years. What we came across today on eBay Motors is a prime example of the former: a 2006 Ford GT that its seller—BJ Motors (no comment) of Tomball, Texas—claims has the lowest mileage of any Ford GT, with just 11.1 miles showing on the odometer.

We can’t verify that claim for ourselves, and nor can we vouch for the dealership’s assertion that it was “Canadian built” (all 2005-2006 Ford GTs were produced in Michigan), but after perusing nearly 60 pictures of the car, we can say that it looks as if it came off the line, like, yesterday. It also appears that BJ Motors has lots of other cool steeds in its stable, which appear—not accidentally, we’re sure—in the background of the GT’s pictorial.

Offered at a relatively steep “Buy It Now” price of $529,995, the GT is rendered in the classic Heritage Blue/Epic Orange Gulf livery, famously worn by the original Ford GT40 racecars in the 1960s, with a black leather interior. No word on whether it has had its Takata airbag replaced yet per the recall notice that just went out last month.

Likely is that won’t matter a whole lot, since we can’t imagine that the car will be driven very far by the new owner. After all, the extremely low mileage is what pushes the price of this GT to more than half a mil, for a car that commonly trades in the $200K–$300K range. And in a way, that’s too bad, since we love to see cars like this in their most exciting state: in motion. Preferably fast.Ford GT for sale on eBay Jan 2015 3
