The Mercedes-Benz E-Class range is shaping up nicely. With a sedan, wagon, coupe, lifted All-Terrain crossover-wagon for Europe, and a number of AMG models, the E-Class family has something for almost everyone. Mercedes will round out the lineup at this year’s Geneva show with a topless Cabriolet model.
All we get is a shadowy teaser image of the new convertible in front of the rest of the E-Class lineup. There isn’t much to see, but Mercedes does confirm that the model seats four just like the coupe. The Cabriolet will also likely offer the same engine as the coupe, a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 that makes 329 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. Other engines, including AMG-tuned options, may be offered after launch.
The Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet will also make its debut in Geneva, but sadly the automaker confirms the model isn’t planned for the U.S. market. Also on display will be the Concept X-Class pickup truck and a number of special-edition AMGs to mark the performance brand’s 50th anniversary. Mercedes won’t have any product to show from its upcoming EQ range of electric vehicles, but it will have an “EQ Lane” visual element going through its booth. EQ will launch in 2018 with its first vehicle, an electric crossover called the Generation.
Stay tuned for more on the E-Class Cabriolet and Mercedes’ 2017 Geneva Motor Show plans.
