cars news 10: 2017 Infiniti Q50 Signature Edition Bows in Chicago

The 2017 Infiniti Q50 Signature Edition will debut at the Chicago auto show this month. It slots into the Q50 lineup as the least expensive model available with the V-6 engine.

On the surface, it’s hard to tell the difference between the Signature Edition and the standard Q50. But Infiniti says the new model bundles some of the most popular features of the Q50 into one package. Buyers receive a power-sliding tinted glass moonroof, navigation, SiriusXM Traffic, voice recognition, a 60/40 split-fold rear seat, 17-inch bright-finish aluminum alloy wheels, and InTouch safety and security services. The model also comes with adaptive gear shift control that’s synchronized with the navigation system.

Based on the Q50 3.0t, the Signature Edition features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine producing 300 hp. Priced from $39,605, the Signature Edition is $1,950 less expensive than the Q50 3.0t Premium, which was previously the least expensive V-6-equipped Q50.

Infiniti is also offering a Signature Edition of the QX80. First introduced last year, the model is back for 2017 with a Saddle Tan leather interior and dark-tinted 22-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The model also includes a host of safety features including backup collision intervention, blind spot warning, intelligent cruise control with full-speed range, forward emergency braking with pedestrian detection, predictive forward collision warning, blind spot intervention, and lane departure warning and prevention.

The QX80 Signature Edition comes standard with a 5.6-liter V-8 engine making 400 hp. Buyers can opt for rear- or all-wheel drive, as well as seven or eight seats and four different exterior color options ranging from blue, gray, black, and white. Pricing for the sophomore model will be revealed closer to its on-sale date in May.
