The Lamborghini Huracan Polizia will likely become the envy of police forces everywhere. In a ceremony recently, Lamborghini CEO Stefano Domenicali delivered a specially equipped Huracan to the Italian Highway Patrol.
Fittingly, the vehicle will cruise the highways in Bologna, Italy, where Lamborghini is headquartered. Painted in a light blue that is the official color of the Italian police, the Huracan also features striping that represents the Italian flag. Blue-tinted P Zero Pirelli tires finish off the look.
Of course, it has also plenty of practical upgrades, too. Like other police cars, the Huracan comes with a gun holster, portable extinguisher, police radio, computer, camera, and other equipment. Producing 610 hp from its 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V-10 engine, the Lamborghini Huracan police car should be able to outrun just about any bad guy, except maybe those who happen to drive a Bugatti Chiron. In our tests, the Huracan was able to hit 60 mph in 2.8 seconds.
When it’s not patrolling the highways, the special Huracan will act as an emergency medical vehicle. Accordingly, it has been properly equipped to transport blood and organs and provide first aid for the injured. The luggage compartment up front houses a refrigeration system, and the vehicle also comes with a defibrillator.
Lamborghini cars in the Italian police force assisted in a number of medical transport operations for hospitals in the Lombardy and Tuscany region last year, the automaker reports. The Italian Highway Patrol already has a Huracan that joined the fleet in 2015.
If you are cruising through the Bologna area of Italy, you may want to keep your speed in check because it will probably feel a little intimidating to see this Huracan in your rear mirror.
