The birth of your first child was pretty uplifting, wasn’t it? And getting married, whoa, that made you real fuzzy. The truth is, these heartfelt moments fade and your life soon revolves around working to pay for crap you never wanted. But watching your custom Porsche 911 getting prepped and tested before it leaves the factory—that’s something that can brighten every day.
Before the new year, we brought you Porsche B-roll of the 911’s engine assembly line, with human hands popping very expensive pistons into position. The video below shows the final spot checks before a 911 leaves Zuffenhausen: topping off fluids, tightening bolts along the underbody, testing a Turbo’s drivetrain on rollers, paint inspections, and affixing stickers to the underhood area of GT3s, all done with the utmost of precision. There’s something mesmerizing in this video, without music or voice-overs, that will take you to the end. Was that your GT3 driving off with Porsche’s rigorous approval? You, sir, are living.
