Six days before bidding closes, someone has offered up $200,000 to get their hands on the very first 2017 Honda Civic Type R.
The auction began on June 7, and at the time of this writing, there have been a total of 22 bids. The highest bid received so far would make this Civic Type R roughly as expensive as a Bentley Flying Spur, but because the car is being auctioned for charity, it’s well worth it. All proceeds will go to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, a non-profit organization that researches and fights childhood cancer.
Head over to auction site Bring a Trailer to view information about current bids or to make a bid yourself. Bidding closes Thursday, June 15 at 12:00 p.m., as the website’s countdown reminds us.
The remaining Honda Civic Type R models destined for the U.S. will go on sale soon. Honda says the model will start in the mid-$30,000 range, and a possible leaked Monroney suggests the exact figure to be $34,775. All Honda Civic Type R models come equipped with a six-speed manual transmission paired with a 2.0-liter turbo-four making 306 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.
