After shredding some snow this past winter in Sweden, the Hyundai i30 N made its way to the U.K. to undergo testing on public streets. In the video below, you can hear the i30 N’s exhaust as it tackles curves in the road.
During this latest round of testing, Hyundai sought to fine-tune the adaptive suspension and different drive modes to make sure the hot hatch is as fit for the road as it is for the track. According to Albert Biermann, head of Vehicle Test & High Performance Development for Hyundai, the model is getting closer to entering the final stages of development.
Until then, Hyundai will compete in the ADAC Zuric 24-hour race at the Nurburgring with two i30 N vehicles that are close to production-ready. The race, which takes place at the end of this month, will help Hyundai refine the i30 N further before the model heads to market.
The i30 N will launch this summer with a 2.0-liter turbo engine paired to a six-speed manual transmission, Hyundai has confirmed. Reports suggest the model will make at least 255 hp, and a higher performance variant could arrive later down the line.
