Watch the One-off Jeep Wrangler 75th Salute Get Built in Seconds

Jeep celebrated its 75th anniversary by building a one-off Wrangler called the 75th Salute Concept, and now the automaker has released a time-lapse video on Facebook showing the car being built at FCA’s Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio. The Wrangler 75th Salute Concept pays tribute to the Willys MB, the original Jeep used during World War II by the U.S. military. The concept pays homage to the original with design cues like small foglights beneath the main headlights and the military green exterior paint with a U.S. Army star emblazoned on the hood.

In addition to the video showing the Wrangler 75th Salute Concept going through the assembly line, Jeep also released a second clip showing a timeline of the evolution of its vehicles. The video starts with the iconic 1941 Willys MA and works its way up to Jeep’s modern lineup, which includes the Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, Renegade, and Wrangler. This video highlights how Jeeps started off as military vehicles used in World War II and eventually evolved into civilian cars with a rich and rugged history, one that’s embodied today by the Wrangler.

The Wrangler remains Jeep’s most iconic vehicle and a new generation will launch in 2018, possibly with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine for the first time. Expect the next-generation Wrangler to offer the same go-anywhere capability as its predecessors but with better efficiency.
