At the Detroit auto show, Ford debuted an updated version of the 1968 Mustang featured in the movie Bullitt 50 years ago. Now, Ford is bringing back the memory of the old Mustang once again with this new Lego kit. And you’re never too old to be playing with Legos when you’re building a Mustang.
The Danish toy company worked closely with Ford’s design and licensing teams to create the product. This 183-piece kit includes race graphic stickers, gold dual stripes and wheels, a removable windscreen, a miniature driver in a racing suit, and a timing board. Of course, no 1968 Mustang is complete without a green paint job.
The 1968 Ford Mustang fastback kit goes on sale starting March for $14.99. It joins a host of other Ford cars in the Lego Speed Champions collection. These include the historic GT40, new GT, F-150 Raptor, Ford Fiesta WRC rally car, 2015 Mustang, and a classic Ford hot rod.
Legos offers other vehicles in its Speed Champions series for when you’re done building all the Ford products. The Bugatti Chiron, McLaren 720S, and Mercedes-AMG GT3 are some of the other options, and all are listed on the Lego site at $14.99.
