2020 Toyota Supra Priced Starting at $50,920

Many details regarding the 2020 Toyota Supra were leaked or revealed by Toyota well before the car’s official debut in Detroit, but pricing has remained elusive up until today. Now that the cat is finally out of the bag, Toyota has dropped full pricing details on its resurrected flagship sports car, revealing its starting price of $50,920 including destination charge.

The 2020 Toyota Supra will be offered in two trim levels: 3.0 and 3.0 Premium. Both trims will pack the same BMW-sourced 335-hp turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and eight-speed automatic transmission, but the Premium model gets more standard equipment. The $50,920 Supra 3.0 comes with a 6.5-inch central screen with Bluetooth capability and Alcantara-trimmed seats as standard. If you want navigation, that will be a $2,460 option bundled with a JBL audio system.

The Supra 3.0 Premium, which starts at $54,920, comes with an 8.8-inch touchscreen with standard navigation and wireless Apple CarPlay capability, 12-speaker JBL stereo, wireless phone charging, a color head-up display, and heated leather seats. All 2020 Supras get forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, automatic high beams, lane departure warning, and a feature that recognizes road signs as standard. Additional safety is available in the Driver Assist package, which includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic alert, and parking sensors for $1,195.

The first 1,500 Supras sold in the U.S. will be special Launch Edition models. The Launch Edition will start at $56,180 and will be based on the 3.0 Premium trim. Launch Edition models will be available in a choice of three exterior colors: Absolute Zero White, Nocturnal Black, and Renaissance Red 2.0. White and Black Supras will receive a red interior, including red leather seats, red leather steering wheel grips, and a red center console. Meanwhile, red cars will get a black interior. All Launch Edition models come with red mirror caps and black-finished 19-inch forged alloy wheels, and also get a carbon-fiber dashboard plaque inscribed with the car’s sequence number and a graphic of Toyota president Akio Toyoda’s signature. The 2020 Toyota Supra Launch Edition lands at dealerships this summer, but if you can’t wait until then, you could always bid on the very first Mk V Supra at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction on January 19.

Starting at just under $51,000, the Supra undercuts many of its two-seat sports car competitors. The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray starts at $56,995, though is more powerful with its standard 455-hp 6.2-liter V-8. Meanwhile, the Porsche 718 Cayman starts at $58,150 and the Jaguar F-Type starts at $61,775. Both are powered by turbocharged four-cylinder engines good for around 300 hp. The 2020 BMW Z4 M40i, which shares a chassis with the Supra and packs a similar turbocharged straight-six, is believed to start around $65,000.
