BEYOND THE REARVIEW CAMERA: An Enhanced View All the Way Around [Sponsored]

The rearview camera is now widely available, but the 2016 Lincoln MKX goes a few steps further, providing a 360-degree “bird’s-eye” view over and around the vehicle. Created from four available cameras—mounted on the front, at the rear, and under each sideview mirror of the Lincoln MKX—the four separate feeds are stitched together using advanced software into a single, seamless image that can be viewed on the center console.

The front camera is hidden behind the Lincoln MKX’s badge. This forward-facing lens is there when it’s needed, but tucked safely away (and protected from the elements) when it’s not. This virtual set of eyes makes it easy to nose the car out from between two buildings (or even really large vehicles) and “see” what’s coming on both sides. Whether you’re parking in a tight spot, maneuvering around hard-to-see obstacles, or navigating a narrow driveway, the full-surround cameras provide the perspective you need—in either a bird’s-eye or split-screen view.
