Look, there’s a new Ford F-150 SVT Raptor coming out soon, and it’s gonna be powerful. We’re talking 450 twin-turbo horses out of the EcoBoost 3.5-liter V-6. That’s no joke—and if you own a first-generation, 2011-2014 Raptor, you and your 411 V-8 horses just got seriously outgunned. What to do? Well, one option is to head over to Shelby American in Las Vegas, where they will bring your soon-to-be-outdated Raptor up to a mesmerizing 700-plus supercharged horses. Meet the Shelby American Baja 700 Edition Raptor.

-

This isn’t the first time Shelby American has emboldened the Raptor with major ponies. Back at the 2013 New York auto show, the Shelby folks showed off a 575-horse Raptor, invigorated by a 2.9-liter Whipple supercharger and attendant engine upgrades.

Of course, the tuning world never stands still. Competing Texas tuning house Hennessey Performance can slap a blower on your first-gen Raptor to make a 623-hp screamer that’s good enough for The Stig to hustle around Top Gear’s track, mostly sideways. So Shelby American has upped the ridiculous ante to “over 700 horsepower.”

-How far over? The company won’t say. The equipment list seems largely the same as the 575-hp Shelby truck we saw back in 2013: same Whipple blower, bigger throttle body and injectors, a healthy intercooler, and a Borla exhaust. But while the 2013 offering demanded a mere $17,995 to beef up your Raptor, the new 700-hp version comes in significantly higher: You’ll have to plunk down $45,000 for this bad boy.

And you better be fast—Shelby American says it will limit the Baja 700 to just 50 examples. Each will be numbered and documented in the Shelby Registry, and presumably will wear dearly departed Carroll Shelby’s signature in at least a few places. Don’t let those whippersnappers with their twin-turbo Raptors out-horsepower you.
