Baker built the contraption you see here in his home shop: a 552-cubic-inch Ford V-12 with 697 horsepower. He started with a couple of 302 blocks and a few Cleveland heads, and didn’t stop slicing and dicing until the thing was up and running. Each bank effectively operates as its own straight-six, with independent oiling and ignition systems. Of course, Baker makes the whole thing sound easy when he gets to explaining it.

The engine shrieks like a terror with two Holley four barrels up top, but Baker also built a unique intake to accept a rare inline four carb. There’s no word on what Baker plans to drop this thing into, but if there’s any justice in the world, it’ll wind up in a Pantera. Check it out below.
