A new Lexus thingamabob called the LF-SA will debut at the Geneva auto show in two weeks.
As a concept brooding in dark, Photoshopped pixels, we can only guess what’s making this Lexus and its Dustbuster maw so visibly upset. Is it the lack of exterior side view mirrors? Those fenders that look chopped off a DTM Mercedes? Or, like the similarly named LF-A concept that first debuted in 2004, is the LF-SA frustrated it may become another series of studies that need five years to come to fruition?
We’re thinking, given the high hood line, that the LF-SA may preview a new Lexus SUV “coupe” along the lines of the BMW X4 and Mercedes GLE, which could be a sibling to the RX or to the smaller NX. Alternately, it could be a precursor to the next CT hybrid, which would fit the upright, low stance of this concept teaser. We can say with some certainty that it’s not that a preview of the 2016 RX, as that model will debut in salable form a few weeks later at the New York auto show.

We’ll let Lexus tell you: “In a future world which many people see as increasingly influenced by technology and virtual experiences, the LF-SA Concept is also a driver-focused vehicle, reflecting Lexus’ vision that real experience will remain ultimate luxury.” There, now you have a fuller picture.
